Styling a Bodysuit

Alright girls, let’s talk bodysuits. Bodysuits were something I was always curious of, but never tried out for myself until recently, and girl are they a game changer!! They have the two most important things – comfort and convenience. They are one of the most versatile pieces you can own, and they should definitely be a staple in any woman’s closet. I put together three different outfits to show y’all how easy they are to style. Odds are everyone has something they can pair with a bodysuit – they’re that compatible with other pieces.

Before getting into how I styled the bodysuit, I want to go into detail about the one I purchased. I got mine from The Pink Lily Boutique and it was under $35 (a steal!). This particular style is called the “Gracious Smile” bodysuit in the ivory color, and lucky for us, it comes in three other colors, which I will probably end up buying. This bodysuit in particular runs small, so I suggest sizing up one; I am typically a medium and I am wearing the large. The material is fitted, but not restricting. There is good stretch to it, but not a ton of extra fabric. Of course it buttons at the crotch like most bodysuits do, and I straight up feel like a giant baby when I wear it, but at least I’m comfortable haha. The buttons are not functioning, however, I think the V-neck cuts perfectly where it should, making it very flattering on the chest.

Now onto the styling!

The first way to style it is my favorite: dressy! I paired it with the most adorable plaid skirt, also from Pink Lily, and brown booties I got a few years ago at Kohls (still available). This outfit has fall written all over it and would be perfect for a brunch or going to the pumpkin patch. Size up in the skirt also: I’m wearing the large. Booties run tts

The next look is a dressy casual one. Perfect for wanting to be comfortable but also elevating your outfit altogether. I paired it with dark wash high-waist jeans from American Eagle and strappy heels I got from Dillard’s. Although the bodysuit is quite simple, it makes a statement by the way it is cut and flatters the chest and shoulders. Because it is on the softer side of colors and lacks a print, it is easy to compliment it by spicing up the rest of the outfit. The jeans I am wearing have slight distressing at the ankles and are cut out at the knees. It adds a subtle edge to the already very classy look. And of course, you cannot go wrong with a pair of Antonio Melani heels. They are strappy, gold, and sparkly. The perfect way to close out an easy night out look.

And finally, the casual look. Although my typical style is dressy, this casual outfit is killer. The best way to style is a bodysuit casually is to throw on your most comfortable pair of jeans and your most comfortable shoes! Whether that’s a pair of Toms for running errands or your fuzzy slippers for working from home, you’ll still look put together, but of course, comfortable.

All of my outfits from this post are linked on the shop tab of my blog along with the makeup products I use and my Christmas phone case haha!
