Feeling extra grateful this year and I can’t help but reflect on all the blessings this past year has brought me. On Saturday I went to dinner with my friends, and it was so fun. We went to Coosh’s, a Cajun restaurant in town, and it made me feel right at home. This was my first birthday not being with my family, and I knew if I were home, I would have requested for my mom to make some sort of Cajun dish, so it just felt right to go to there.
No matter what my plans are for my birthday, I always look forward to what I’m going to wear, and this year was the perfect excuse to wear my pink cowgirl boots. Naturally my outfit included pink and sparkles. I also got all fancy and did some eyeshadow, which is a very rare occurrence for me haha.
The rest of the night consisted of Crumbl Cookie and hanging with my friends. It’s days like today that make me realize how blessed I am, and how I can truly see God’s hand in my life. I spent a lot of the time over the weekend reflecting on my past year and just how much my life has changed. I moved to Tallahassee, started a new job, started school at FSU, and made some awesome friends. Although this has been a very challenging year for me, it has also brought me some of the best people and opportunities in my life.
In regard to opportunities, on my actual birthday, the 6th; I started my summer internship with Kohl’s. Although it is not my plan to work in corporate America, I am very excited for this time to learn and expand my knowledge of the retail/business world!
After wrapping up day one of my internship, I had a very lowkey night. Poke bowls and cheesecake while watching a Christmas movie (can you guess which one)? Although it was a rather “quite” birthday, it was the perfect way for me to ring in my 22nd year. I am grateful for the people in my life and how much they mean to me, and I am even more thankful for God’s plan for my life. If you would have asked me on my 21st birthday what I expect to come from that year, I wouldn’t have been close to guessing what has happened. It has been greater than I could imagine. God’s plan is always greater, and I am excited and hopeful for my 22nd year!
xoxo, Delaney
