Christmas In July

Taking “Christmas in July” to a different level this year and took a day trip to Christmas, FL last week. I put on one of my many Christmas shirts, laced up iconic glitter shoes, and headed west for a day of adventure. Before heading to Christmas, I looked up things to do and sites to see, and quickly realized this is a town of a handful of people. So needless to say, there is nothing to do there lol. I knew that going in, so I can’t say I was underwhelmed, but this is definitely a town people drive through and not set aside time for to visit. However, it’s right next to Orlando, so the fun isn’t far away haha.

It was about a two hour drive, so thankfully I have a 5 hour playlist of Christmas music and my Chick-Fil-A breakfast got me through the drive. I got to the town with my sister and our first stop was the gas station, where we didn’t necessarily see Santa on a sleigh with his reindeer, but instead, a shirtless man driving a lawn mower with his dog on his lap. I’ll take what I can get I guess haha. Our “trip” consisted mostly of us driving and taking photos of the Christmas decorations they have scattered through the town and getting strange looks from people, because I, without a doubt, looked like a tourist. The people of Christmas don’t exactly have the happy Christmas spirit I was expecting, but I was still happy to be there.

The only true place we stopped was at the Post Office, and you know I can’t pass up the opportunity to go there. Christmas and the Post Office? It can’t get much better than that!! I went in and sent myself a Christmas postcard and bought a sheet of Santa Claus stamps, which was probably the highlight of the trip.

Overall, the town does a really good job of upholding the Christmas theme. Several streets are named after the reindeer and multiple houses have wreaths on their fences. It wasn’t much to see, but my little Christmas obsessed heart was in heaven!! We’re officially 5 months out until Christmas, and I’m getting more excited by the day! Merry Christmas!!
