Spring Staples

Hey hey; happy March! This month is going to be super busy for me! Between weddings, bridal showers, and work, my schedule is pretty packed! So, with it being the first of March and the rise of spring, I wanted to make this blog post so that it can help y’all early on in the season. I complied a list of the staple pieces your closet needs for spring (for both men and women). These are the most versatile pieces that will come in handy throughout the whole spring season and into summer as well.

For Women:

  1. White Jeans

Nothing irritates me more than dressing out of season, and in my opinion, white jeans are the epitome of spring. They are 100% versatile while completely changing the tone of your outfit from winter to spring. Whether you’re wearing them casually with a graphic tee or dressing them up with a blouse, white jeans are a must. They help create a bright and refreshing look while transitioning out of the dark and muted colors of winter fashion.

2. Denim Jacket

To be honest, denim jackets are useful year round, so investing in one anytime of the year would be beneficial! I love denim jackets so much in spring because it’s a good balance piece to use in accordance with the weather; it can start cold in the morning but by noon it’s 85°. They’re a good lighter weight jacket to keep you warm, but still trendy enough to tie around your waist once it’s too hot for it.

3. White T-Shirt

This sounds self explanatory, but just like the white jeans, white t-shirts refresh the overall look and are very easy to dress up & down. They’re good for beach cover ups, casual outfits, and layering for when it’s still cold in early spring.

4. T-Shirt Dress

When thinking about a “throw on and go” outfit, a t-shirt dress is the way to go. They’re extremely comfortable and easy to style. For spring, they’re a good option because they’re a good transition piece. When you can’t decide if it’s still winter or officially spring, wearing a t-shirt dress is the perfect base line and then accessorizing accordingly.

5. Graphic Sweatshirt

Honestly, it doesn’t need to be a “graphic” sweatshirt, but let’s be real, they’re always cuter than plain ones lol. These are a good option to have for nights on the beach when it’s cold, or for being casually out and about but still looking put together.
*style tip* : to dress up a sweatshirt roll your sleeves twice and add lots of accessories. It’s super simple, but a total game changer.

6. A Romper

This is along the lines of the t-shirt dress in terms of a “one and done” kind of deal. Rompers can easily double as a swimsuit cover up, and are very easy to elevate their look. I like having them for spring because they’re a great option for outings if you don’t feel like construing an entire outfit haha.

For Men:

I don’t have pictures of these because I don’t have anyone to model them for me lol, however, these pieces are staples for men’s’ spring wardrobe

  1. Bare Bottom Volley Shorts

These shorts, in my opinion, put a fashionable twist on athletic shorts. They’re not overly casual like basketball shorts, but yet they keep a relaxed and elevated look at the same time. They’re the ideal short for casual/comfort days.

2. Denim Jacket

Guys owning a denim jacket for spring is for the same reason women would. They’re good for layering, and transitioning from heavy winter coats to light airy looks.

3. Short Sleeved Collared Shirt

Honestly, I’m sure that many guys already own a short sleeved collared shirt, but if you don’t, then this is your sign to buy one. They’re a great option for casual but clean cut looks along with being able to have an upgraded dressier option.

4. Classic Fit/ Non Cuffed Joggers

Joggers are normally a popular choice of pants, and of the few I own, I know how comfortable they are, so I see why a lot of guys want to wear them. However, if you’re ballin’ on a budget, investing in classic fit/ non cuffed joggers is a good option because they encompass both comfort and style. They have more of a tapered look, but keep the ease of a drawstring waist. They’ll keep you warm in cool early spring, but also spice up the old blue jean routine.

The styling opportunities with these pieces are countless, and I hope this post gave y’all some inspiration for your spring wardrobe!!

XOXO, Delaney
