Shinning Into Spring

Hello friends!! We are well into spring and the outfits keep getting better by the day! Of course when spring comes that means pretty pastel colors and floral dresses, and as we go further into spring and are coming up into summer, I’ve noticed that there are so many good trends this year; tie-dye, puff sleeves, muted colors, etc. However, something I’ve noticed this year, and years in the past, is that sequin, sparkles, glitter, and all things shinny, rarely make an appearance. Glitter seems to be reserved for winter in order to add that extra touch of magic to the Christmas season, which I am definitely not opposed to… but I think its time to spice up all the other seasons, so BRING ON THE SPARKLE!!

Sometimes sequin can be intimidating to wear casually, but don’t let that stop you from shinning! Sequin clothing is one of those things that I think can easily be over analyzed. When it comes to sequin, most people think holiday parties or winter weddings, but I say, heck with that! Let the sparkle rein all year. Its easier than you may think to wear sparkly clothes casually. One of the easiest ways to dress down a sequin blouse is to wear it with jeans and sandals or sneakers… a classic look of mine. When it comes to sequin joggers, shorts, or pants, those can be a little trickier, but don’t fear, throw on a solid t-shirt or sweatshirt, canvas shoes or sandals, and OWN IT.

I’ve recently ordered quite a few sequin pieces from various online boutiques and they are killer! I am way too excited to style them this spring and into the summer. In the picture below, I’m wearing a sequin top that I ordered from Vici and I styled it with cropped light was jeans and sandals for a casual look.

*top is from Vici wearing a small

*jeans are from American Eagle wearing a six short

*sandals are from Target wearing a size seven

Here are some of the boutiques that I get the cutest sequin pieces from. I hope you love them just as much as I do!
